Baseball Recap: Lutheran Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lutheran put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Redford Union Panthers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Bobby Haworth and Joey Hollyer were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Haworth tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hollyer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Haworth scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Hollyer went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Hollyer is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Nolan Hammons was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Collin Clark was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Redford Union, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Lutheran will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
