Baseball Recap: Serrano Comes Up Short

Serrano extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 6-13. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Hills Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 21-10 defeat on Wednesday.

Kelvam Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Oak Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.

On Oak Hills' side, Seth Marcil was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Marcil has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ethan Mcclain, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serrano will host Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Burros have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Oak Hills, they will welcome Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Scorpions have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
