Volleyball Game Preview: Belleville East Lancers vs. Collinsville Kahoks

Belleville East is a perfect 9-0 against Collinsville since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Kahoks at 5:30 p.m. Belleville East is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Belleville East had just enough and edged out Edwardsville 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Belleville East who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-19.

Andrew Neutzling was the offensive standout of the game as he had 11 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Collinsville had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Redbirds. The Kahoks haven't had any issues with the Redbirds recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Collinsville's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Belleville East, their victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-7.

Belleville East beat Collinsville 2-0 when the teams last played on May 6th. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Kahoks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
