Basketball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 44-27 fall against the Tampa Bay Tech Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sharks of the 42-38 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Tampa Bay Tech found their leader in freshman Milaya Chapman, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Chapman has scored at least a third of Tampa Bay Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenesis Walker, who posted six points and eight rebounds.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Tampa Bay Tech, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview will head out to square off against Durant at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will venture away from home to take on Strawberry Crest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tampa Bay Tech is facing Strawberry Crest at the right time seeing as Strawberry Crest is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
