Flag Football Recap: Heritage Piles Up the Points Against Emerald

Heritage came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 39-0 victory over the Emerald Aerouants. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Aerouants are ranked 567th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Alxira Wilright and Nella Toeaina, who racked up all five sacks between them. Wilright has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last six times she's played.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Emerald, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Looking ahead, Heritage is taking a road trip to take on Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Patriots 3.1, the Pirates 9.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Emerald does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
