Star power: WR Tyjon Lindsey (28), CBs Reggie Whitfield (1,076) and Jaylan Shaw (1,212).

Even more: Quarterback Tanner McKee (6-foot-6, 200 pounds) completed 50 of 73 passes for 709 yards, nine TDs and no interceptions as a backup last year. Running back Miles Reed rushed for 540 yards and nine TDs in 2015.

Game to watch: Centennial plays No. 4 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) at Mission Viejo, Sept. 3.

Briefly: Lindsey transferred from No. 3 Bishop Gorman after 79 catches, 2,001 yards and 29 TDs over two seasons. … Over the last five seasons, Centennial has averaged 259.6, 208.1, 322.9, 257.6 and 303.5 rushing yards per game; 253.7, 236.3, 280.3, 278.0 and 176.4 passing yards per game; 513.3, 444.4, 603.2, 535.6 and 479.9 total yards per game.
