Softball Game Preview: Senn Bulldogs vs. Von Steuben Panthers

The Senn Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Von Steuben Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Senn is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Senn heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They came up short against Northside, falling 15-0.

Lincoln Park hit Von Steuben with a 13-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 18-3 to the Lions. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost five in a row.

Von Steuben saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Von Steuben's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Senn, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Senn beat Von Steuben 9-4 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
