Football Game Preview: Coconino Panthers vs. Mesquite Wildcats + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Dylan Callado and Parker Kaczmarek are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Coconino Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Mesquite Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Coconino put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Flagstaff as they made off with a 47-21 win. With the Panthers ahead 27-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Jake Hanley went supernova, throwing for 224 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 125 yards on only 13 carries. Those 125 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Aj Ragan made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coconino was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flagstaff only rushed for 145.

Coconino didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bruce Larsen and Ragan. Ragan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Mesquite can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Poston Butte with a sharp 31-7 victory. Considering the Wildcats' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Coconino's record now sits at 6-4. As for Mesquite, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
