Baseball Recap: Clarion Area Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarion Area). They put the hurt on the North Clarion Wolves with a sharp 15-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.

Clarion Area let Derek Smail and Noah Harrison run wild. Smail went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Harrison went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Harrison has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Kahle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Clarion Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Clarion Area's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for North Clarion, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarion Area will face off against DuBois at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Clarion, they will welcome Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
