After a string of three wins, Crossroads's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 75-60 to the Alta Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 283rd in California, while the Hawks are ranked 16th in Utah).

Crossroads' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Alta, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Crossroads and Coral Glades will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Crossroads' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Alta, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cathedral Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Alta knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Cathedral Catholic likes a good challenge.
