Soccer Game Preview: St. Pauls vs. West Bladen

St. Pauls is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the West Bladen Knights at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. Pauls fell victim to Lumberton and their airtight defense on March 8th. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 6-0. St. Pauls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, West Bladen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to South Brunswick. While losing is never fun, West Bladen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while South Brunswick are ranked 195th).

West Bladen's loss dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for St. Pauls, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

St. Pauls beat West Bladen by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-2. Does St. Pauls have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Bladen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
