Baseball Recap: Ferndale Takes a Loss

Ferndale started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Blacklick Valley. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Connor Hrivnak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Michael Zahurak also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Blacklick Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferndale will square off against United at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blacklick Valley, they will challenge Purchase Line at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
