Saluda hadn't done well against Ninety Six recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Saluda skirted past Ninety Six 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Miller Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Saluda saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amy Sorcia, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Sorcia hit this season.

Saluda pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ninety Six, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.

Coincidentally, Saluda and Ninety Six will both be playing Strom Thurmond the next time they take the field. Saluda will host Strom Thurmond at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ninety Six will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
