Softball Preview: Overton Bobcats vs. Hillsboro Burros        
        
		
            Overton has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Hillsboro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Bobcats will welcome the Burros  at 5:00  p.m. Overton will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Overton came out on top against McGavock  on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Bobcats walked away with  a   10-6  win over the Raiders.

 Kaliyha Finley-Gray made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   seven  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ella Meacham and  Jailyn Norman did most of the damage at the plate:  Meacham  got on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Norman  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Hana Kajihara, who  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Overton  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in 12 consecutive  matches.
 Hillsboro had taken Antioch down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end  on Tuesday. The Burros fell  6-3 to the Bears. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2021, but that streak is no more.
 Overton pushed their record up to 11-4 with the  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hillsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
