Softball Recap: Sandpoint Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sandpoint had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Moscow Bears 16-2. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 11-1 win on Saturday.

Cadence Skibitsky was incredible, firing off two triples, five RBI, and two runs while going 4-for-4. Teagan Newsom was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

Sandpoint hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Sandpoint's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Moscow, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandpoint will host Bonners Ferry at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Moscow, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
