Football Recap: St. John's Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for St. John's offense. They took a blow against the Cross Trojans on Friday, falling 42-0. The loss continues a trend for the Islanders in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Cross was led to victory by Mah'Ky Green and Tyler Harris. Green rushed for 137 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Harris threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cross, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, St. John's will square off against Bethune-Bowman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Islanders will be up against the Mohawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cross, they will take on Scott's Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
