Soccer Recap: Greene Central Comes Up Short

Greene Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jones Trojans. Even if the Rams couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Greene Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Jones, they moved to 1-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Greene Central will venture away from home to take on Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jones, they will take on North Lenoir at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
