Rowe won against Juarez-Lincoln two weeks ago with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Warriors claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over the Rio Grande City Rattlers. With the Warriors ahead 28-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Alexander Lopez Negrete had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Jimenez, who rushed for 82 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rowe's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Dante Rodriguez was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making ten total tackles.
The win was the third in a row for Rowe, bringing their record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Rio Grande City, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
