Softball Recap: Teutopolis Comes Up Short

Farina South Central hit Teutopolis with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wooden Shoes fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-4. If the Wooden Shoes were looking for revenge after losing 9-6 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Teutopolis saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Wermert, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Wermert has snagged this season.

Teutopolis' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Farina South Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Teutopolis will venture away from home to challenge Tuscola at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farina South Central, they will face off against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
