Football Game Preview: Cortez Colts vs. Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles + Official Tickets

Cortez is 0-5 against Bourgade Catholic since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Colts will look to defend their home field against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cortez got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They blew past Fountain Hills 26-3.

Jamerrius Anthony had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 114 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight passes. Those 122 passing yards gave him a new career-high.

Cortez didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Anthony led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bourgade Catholic didn't have too much trouble with St. John Paul II Catholic on Thursday as they won 26-8. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bourgade Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cortez, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
