League recap: Forestville Military Academy rises, Surrattsville falls in league standings

Prince George's County 3A/2A league recap: 4/3/13

Forestville Military Academy made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eighth to fourth place in Prince George's County 3A/2A thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Surrattsville fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fourth all the way to eighth place after going 0-2 in the past week. Douglass (4-0, 3-0) is now in first place.

Friendly outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Patriots beat the Hornets 10-9 and Surrattsville 9-8.

Potomac, the league's stolen base leader this season with 92, added to its lead in that category with 50 more steals over the past week.

There were four hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Keon Ellis, who hit .800 by going 4-for-5.



The Wolverines' Antonio Washington struck out nine Gwynn Park hitters en route to an 8-7 victory on March 28. Over five innings of work, he gave up two hits and three runs.
