            Volleyball Recap: Gretna East Griffins vs. Elkhorn Antlers        
        
		
        
        
            Gretna East was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elkhorn Antlers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Antlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-2  back in September.
 In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Gretna East sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 21-25,  25-17.
 Grace Scheef paced Gretna East's offense, picking up ten kills. Scheef got some help from  Maci Falcone and her 27 assists.
  Bailey Ferguson was the offensive standout of the  match as she  had 15  digs and one  assist. That's the most  digs  she has posted  over her last six  contests.
Gretna East's defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Elkhorn, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
 Coincidentally, Gretna East and Elkhorn will both be playing Bennington the next time they take the court. The Antlers will  host the Badgers at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Griffins will head out to face them  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
