Softball Recap: Corona del Mar Comes Up Short

Corona del Mar lost against Fountain Valley back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sea Kings lost 17-2 to the Barons. The Sea Kings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corona del Mar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Daniella D'Agostino was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Corona del Mar's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Fountain Valley, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corona del Mar will head out to square off against Huntington Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Oilers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Sea Kings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fountain Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Los Alamitos at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
