Goochland and Charlottesville are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will host the Black Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Goochland has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Goochland fell victim to Monticello and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Charlottesville is still undefeated this season after their contest against Fluvanna County on Tuesday, but Fluvanna County came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Black Knights skirted past the Flying Flucos 4-2. While the Black Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Julian Mark-Williams looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlottesville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Hughes, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Charlottesville pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Goochland, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Goochland suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Charlottesville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
