Baseball Recap: El Monte Takes a Loss

El Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-0 to the Arroyo Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in March.

El Monte's record now sits at 0-15. As for Arroyo, they moved to 9-8-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Monte will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gabrielino at 3:15 p.m. on the 28th. As for Arroyo, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.88 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
