Baseball Game Preview: Family Community Christian vs. Bastrop Rams

Family Community Christian will venture away from home to face off against the Bastrop Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Family Community Christian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-1 to Oak Grove. The loss continues a trend for Family Community Christian in their meetings with Oak Grove: they've now lost eight in a row.

Family Community Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Cottingham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Zac Quimby also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Bastrop made easy work of Forest on Tuesday and carried off a 19-2 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

Family Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Bastrop, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Family Community Christian took their win against Bastrop in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Family Community Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
