Soccer Game Preview: Riverbend vs. Colonial Forge

Riverbend hasn't had much luck against Colonial Forge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Riverbend will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Riverbend made easy work of North Stafford and carried off a 4-1 victory. Considering Riverbend have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Colonial Forge finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mountain View by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Colonial Forge in their meetings with Mountain View: they've now lost four in a row.

Riverbend's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Colonial Forge, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Riverbend beat Colonial Forge by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
