Basketball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 58-29 loss at the hands of the Orangeville Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Broncos are ranked 117th).

Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Orangeville, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria will challenge Pekin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Pekin will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Peoria surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orangeville, they will square off against Dakota at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
