Baseball Recap: Tech Boston Academy/Academy of Public Service Takes a Loss

Tech Boston Academy/Academy of Public Service extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the South Boston Knights, falling 13-2. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for South Boston, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. That looming 13-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For South Boston's part, Carlos Francisco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Francisco was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victor Batista, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Batista is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Pe?a, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tech Boston Academy/Academy of Public Service will head out to challenge Brighton/Boston Academy at 3:30 p.m. on May 7. As for South Boston, they will venture away from home to take on Madison Park RVT/McKinley RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
