Basketball Game Preview: Liberal Redskins vs. Garden City Buffaloes

Liberal is 2-8 against Garden City since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Liberal Redskins will challenge the Garden City Buffaloes. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Liberal is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Woodward, falling 69-47. The Redskins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.

Despite the loss, Liberal had strong showings from James Fieser, who posted 12 points, and Adrian Moreno-Gonzales, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Garden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Great Bend. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Panthers are ranked 23rd).

Liberal's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Garden City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Liberal came up short against Garden City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 72-67. Can Liberal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
