Baseball Recap: Mojave's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mojave came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights by a score of 13-9 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Rattlers: when they faced off against the Blue Knights last Tuesday, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Christian Garcia and Jaime Adame were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Garcia pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Adame pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Garcia posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Garcia scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, while Adame scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zeus Flores, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Roger Sanudo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Mojave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mojave's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-10. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Mojave and Democracy Prep Agassi Campus will both be playing Virgin Valley the next time they take the field. The Rattlers will host the Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Blue Knights will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
