Baseball Game Preview: Crane Cranes vs. Lamesa Tornadoes

The Crane Cranes will head out on the road to face off against the Lamesa Tornadoes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither Crane nor Lamesa posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Tuesday, Crane didn't have quite enough to beat Coahoma and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Lamesa came up short against Compass Academy on Tuesday and fell 6-1. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Xavier Zorola made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Crane has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. Lamesa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Crane skirted past Lamesa 6-5 in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crane since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
