Ouachita Parish strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 44-6 win over the Port Gibson Blue Waves. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-6.

Montrell Conner was his usual excellent self, throwing for 117 yards and four TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. Cam Williams helped Conner out on the ground, rushing for 69 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Another reason for the win was Ouachita Parish's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Jeremy Jones was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Ouachita Parish's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Port Gibson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ouachita Parish will head out to square off against Franklin Parish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 13.2, the Patriots 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Port Gibson, they will face off against Hazlehurst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Blue Waves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
