Football Recap: Seabreeze Comes Up Short on the Road Against Spruce Creek

Seabreeze had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 33-0 defeat at the hands of the Spruce Creek Hawks on Friday. The Sandcrabs were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Spruce Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pj Miller led the charge by throwing for 148 yards and one TD, while also rushing for 56 yards on only seven carries. Another receiver making a difference was Cameron Oxendine, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one score.

Seabreeze will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Spruce Creek, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 25-22 victory against Avon on the 28th.
