 The South Side Hornet will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Given that  the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  matchup.
 Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought  game, but South Side had to settle for  a  7-6 defeat against Bigelow.
  Maggie Bradford was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, South Side  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with seven  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bigelow only tossed three.
 Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge fell victim to a  tough 11-3 loss at the hands of Quitman  on Tuesday. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cedar Ridge in their matchups with Quitman: they've now lost four in a row.
  Bella Arms spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned  (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks.
 At the plate,  Reagan Skaggs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 South Side's loss dropped their record down to 13-5-1. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Cedar Ridge's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  South Side has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Cedar Ridge, though, as  they've  only  averaged .347. Will they be able to contain South Side's hitters?
