Eric Cortes posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because El Rancho is 7-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise.
