Cade Blunt's Big Game Leads Meeker over Cedaredge

Starting off the list is Meeker's Cade Blunt, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Blunt rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 35 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

The victory was the third in a row for Meeker, bringing their record for this year to 3-2. Blunt and Meeker will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Fork at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Mason Schoeppner Puts an End to Grand Valley's Losing Streak on Friday

Thanks in part to Mason Schoeppner, Grand Valley said goodbye to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season. Schoeppner turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Those 144 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Grand Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Schoeppner and Grand Valley will take on Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

While Donny Read delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Roaring Fork. Read was dynamite, making 12 total tackles.

Roaring Fork now has a losing record at 2-3. Read and Roaring Fork will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Joe Hollembeak Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Joe Hollembeak posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Hollembeak and North Fork will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Meeker at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th. The Miners had to take a loss when they last met the Cowboys, but Hollembeak had little to do with the loss: he made 14 total tackles. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Clay Crawford Delivers Best Effort of Season

Meeker was led to victory by Clay Crawford, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Crawford picked up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

If history really does repeat itself, Crawford might just drop another big game when he faces off against North Fork on Friday. Back in August of 2023 (the last time Crawford saw the Miners), he rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
