The Surry County Cougars will head out to challenge the Windsor Dukes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Surry County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Surry County fell victim to Southampton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 12-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Windsor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Isle of Wight Academy 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dukes have posted since April 25, 2024.

Windsor's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Surry County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Everything went Surry County's way against Windsor in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Surry County made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
