Soccer Game Preview: Colonial Forge vs. North Stafford

The Colonial Forge Eagles will challenge the North Stafford Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colonial Forge's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Colonial Forge is headed into Thursday's matchup following a draw, the team's first since April 15. They and Brooke Point finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Friday. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, Colonial Forge got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but North Stafford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Mountain View a 1-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

North Stafford's one-goal win came courtesy of Arthur Etoa, who's now up to ten this season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-9-3. Colonial Forge's draw makes their record 5-4-4 this season.

Colonial Forge came out on top in a nail-biter against North Stafford when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
