Basketball Game Preview: Chrisman Bears vs. Belton Pirates

The Chrisman Bears will face off against the Belton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chrisman is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Tuesday, Chrisman took a blow against Liberty, falling 74-47. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Blue Jays are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, Belton came up short against Raymore-Peculiar on Wednesday and fell 62-55. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Belton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayce Maiden went 10 of 17 on his way to 22 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maiden has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gaven Blaise, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.

Belton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Chrisman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
