Baseball Recap: Natchez Comes Up Short

Natchez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the South Jones Braves, falling 15-2. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Braves this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-3 loss on Friday.

Natchez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Sewell, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Natchez's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for South Jones, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coming up, Natchez will face off against Port Gibson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Natchez has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for South Jones, they will head out to square off against West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Jones' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
