Vandalia is 8-2 against Litchfield since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vandals will head out to take on the Purple Panthers at 4:30 p.m.

Vandalia will face Litchfield after dropping another heartbreaker against Southwestern on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Vandals fell 8-4 to the Piasa Birds. The Vandals haven't had much luck with the Piasa Birds recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Vandalia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Litchfield played against Bunker Hill on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

Vandalia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Litchfield, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-9.

Vandalia couldn't quite finish off Litchfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Vandals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
