Grain Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Smith-Cotton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Tigers at 12:30 p.m. Grain Valley will be strutting in after a win while Smith-Cotton will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Grain Valley turned things around against Lee's Summit North on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Broncos.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Smith-Cotton's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hickman.

Smith-Cotton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Kindle, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Smith-Cotton's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Grain Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-1.

Grain Valley took their victory against Smith-Cotton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
