Oblong came tearing into Thursday's matchup with ten straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Martinsville Bluestreaks on the board, marking their second-straight 2-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Oblong was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11.

Their offense was headlined by Macy Krick and Ella Jenkins, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Brylee Murray and her 15 assists. Layla Krick controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Oblong's record is now 20-5. As for Martinsville, they dropped their record down to 13-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Oblong and Hutsonville/Palestine will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Martinsville, they will venture away from home to take on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
