Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Christian Takes a Loss

Monte Vista Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salinas Cowboys. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monte Vista Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-13.

Toni Acab had an outrageously good game for Salinas as she had 17 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Acab has posted since back in September.

Monte Vista Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Salinas, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista Christian will welcome Scotts Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Salinas, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pacific Grove at 6:00 p.m.
