Basketball Game Preview: North Greene Huskies vs. University School Buccaneers

The North Greene Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the University School Buccaneers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Greene comes in on three and University School on four.

North Greene is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Sullivan East: they outscored them in every quarter. North Greene took down Sullivan East 53-37 on Tuesday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Patriots are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, University School hadn't done well against Hampton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. University School pulled ahead with a 66-65 photo finish over Hampton.

North Greene pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for University School, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

North Greene couldn't quite finish off University School when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 56-53. Can North Greene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
