Preview: Ferris vs. Venus
Ferris is 8-1-1 against Venus since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ferris Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Venus Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ferris scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Newman International Academy 4-1. The victory was just what Ferris needed coming off of a 5-1 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Venus sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Godley on Tuesday.
Venus was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Val Miranda and
Josaline Rico, who scored both of Venus' goals. The pair have combined for a total of four so far this season.
Ferris pushed their record up to 6-4-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matchups. As for Venus, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.
Ferris came out on top in a nail-biter against Venus in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Does Ferris have another victory up their sleeve, or will Venus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
