It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Valor Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 win over the Legend Titans. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Chase Hanosh and Channing Fox. Hanosh rushed for 219 yards and one TD while Fox rushed for 95 yards and a pair of scores. Hanosh's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 112 rushing yards.

Valor Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Legend lost, don't look at Dj Bordeaux. Despite the final result, he rushed for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 204 yards and two TDs. Bordeaux's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Legend's leading receiver Kellen Marchand was Bordeaux's top target yet again, picking up 110 receiving yards and one score.

Valor Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Legend, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Valor Christian will take on Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine matchups. Legend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
