Basketball Recap: Jemez Valley Comes Up Short

Jemez Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Legacy Academy Silverbacks, falling 73-39. The Warrior were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.

It was another big night for Bryant Scales, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds for Legacy Academy. Scales has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dallas Baca, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

Jemez Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Legacy Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Jemez Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Legacy Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Menaul at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Menaul likes a good challenge.
