Baseball Game Preview: Ridge View Blazers vs. Sumter Gamecocks

The Ridge View Blazers will face off against the Sumter Gamecocks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge View has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Ridge View turned things around against Darlington on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Falcons 12-11. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blazers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Arist Nosker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Ridge View's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Suber, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sumter lost 16-4 to Blythewood on Thursday. The Gamecocks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ridge View's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Sumter, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.
